Designalism podcast is out now
A series of interviews with makers on the edge of art and journalism

Designalism is a new initiative that presents the work of a new generation of globally operating engaged artists and designers. The focus is on projects in which relevant social issues are investigated by combining journalistic analysis and artistic presentation. An unique and quirky approach that enriches both journalism and the artistic sector.
This interdisciplinary approach, which is characterized by a challenging way of questioning, researching and presenting, is indicated in various ways. Following Stijn Postema, who studies the phenomenon at the University of Amsterdam, we have chosen the term 'Designalism'.
Podcast series
Designalism is a collaboration between ACED and Stijn Postema and aims to identify, map and present 'Designalism' to a wide audience.
We do this in a series of podcasts in which journalist and presenter IJsbrand van Veelen has conversations with artists and designers about their specific working methods at the intersection of art, design and journalism.
During the Dutch Design Week a first series of podcasts was recorded in the Van Abbemuseum with Koert van Mensvoort (Next Nature Network), Annet Henneman (Teatro di Nascosto), Robert Glas, Irene Stracuzzi and Coralie Vogelaar. This series together with an introductory conversation with Stijn Postema can be listened from today via Spotify, SoundCloud and iTunes.
Designalism has been honored with a grant from Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie.
